New monthly rates for VA disability compensation are announced almost every year. The updated VA disability rates for 2024 are calculated according to increases in the cost of living. The 2024 VA disability rates affect more than five million veterans receiving checks from the VA.
VA disability ratings are based on how disabling a veteran’s service-connected conditions are.
Below, you’ll find a table of the 2024 VA disability pay chart for a single veteran with no dependents or additional benefits.
VA Rating | 2024 Monthly Compensation (Veteran with no dependents) |
---|---|
10% | $171.23 |
20% | $338.49 |
30% | $524.31 |
40% | $755.28 |
50% | $1,075.16 |
60% | $1,361.88 |
70% | $1,716.28 |
80% | $1,995.01 |
90% | $2,241.91 |
100% (or TDIU) | $3,737.85 |
The monthly amount increases for spouses, dependent children, and parents for veterans with conditions rated at 30% or more. Veterans with dependents will be paid more depending on the number of dependents under 18, over 18, or if the dependents are the parents of the disabled veteran.
You may also receive additional special monthly compensation (SMC) or aid and attendance benefits.
