Woods & Woods makes Best Places to Work in Indiana list
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 18, 2025
Evansville, Indiana – The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has named Woods & Woods as one of the 2025 Best Places to Work in Indiana.
The statewide survey and awards program honors participating organizations with the highest levels of employee satisfaction and engagement in the workplace.
This is the first time Woods & Woods has made the list.
“This year marks 40 years our firm has been practicing,” said Neil Woods, Woods & Woods owner and president. “Making sure our people are well taken care of has been essential to making sure our veteran clients are well taken care of. It’s an honor to be recognized for the work environment we have built here over the years.”
Mike Woods started the Evansville firm in 1985 as an advocate for people with injuries and disabilities. In 2008, the business began focusing on representing veterans in their disability appeals and has since recovered more than $1 billion in missing back pay from the VA.
Woods & Woods has 115 employees including VA-accredited attorneys, case managers, legal analysts, and intake agents. The firm has subsequently outgrown its current home in the Old Vanderburgh County Jail. In April, they will begin moving to 808 SE 3rd St. following an $11 million renovation of the former Center of Hope Church (originally Calvary Baptist Church) and school building.
“I’m so proud of the Woods & Woods staff and the work they do to help veterans get the VA disability benefits they deserve,” Woods said. “It’s important to me to carry on my family legacy by managing a firm where employees know they are appreciated and are motivated to come to work and do their best.”
Woods & Woods is one of just six Evansville companies and the only Evansville company of its size to make the 2025 Best Places to Work list, which includes a total of 150 Indiana businesses across more than 20 industries.
