What Our Clients Say
Average Rating:
When I say the best...I mean the absolute best law firm there is when it comes to handling business for you with the VBA! They will definitely get you all the help you need! Patience is key here! Give them the time, and trust and believe me when I say this...it will definitely be worth all your time!
It may have taken many years but Woods & Woods was right there every step of the way. They kept me up to date on everything going on with the case. Im very happy with the outcome would recommend them a thousand times over to friends and family and also to all my fellow veterans. A Big Thank You to Woods & Woods and everyone involved in all the hard work that came with working on my case.
Five stars doesn't seem enough. My experience with Alex at Woods & Woods was outstanding from day one and remained consistent throughout the process. I initially muddled through my intent to file and several service-connected issues with a VSO. She told me my medical records had been "lost", and that I had little to no chance of my conditions ever being approved. By chance, I saw an ad on Face Book for W&W and reached out. Sometimes, you just have to take a deep breath and jump. Four years later, I'm at 100% P&T. Alex worked diligently as a liaison between me and the lawyer assigned to my case and his level of professionalism, compassion and attention to detail was beyond expectation. In a world where we often feel like just a number, Alex made me feel as though I mattered. W&W navigated the arduous task of navigating the VA system and tracking down my military and personal medical records, some back almost 30 years! Employer records, personal statements, C&P exams were all handled with care. After years of phone calls, conversations, tears, frustration and even bouts of angry moments and tears, Alex was that anchor on the end of the line. He returned every phone call, navigated around obstacles with me like a seasoned boat captain on a stormy sea, always reassuring and patient. Living in constant pain, and an extraordinary level of PTSD, I was not always a treat to work with and I honestly can't thank him enough for his consistence. I knew exactly what to expect when I called, and if I left a message, it was always returned. This man did exactly what he said he would do without fail. I recommend W&W to every vet I come in contact with. They did what I was told was impossible. If you've served, contact them. If they say you have a case, believe them. Do exactly what they tell you to do within the timeline they give you. If you don't like the way something sounds, speak up, they listen. The VA system is a mess and very difficult to navigate on our own. I honestly think it's easier for them if we fall through the cracks and give up. Thank you Alex, and the Woods and Woods team, your hard work changed my life.
In 2008 when my husband passed away, I applied for DIC. He had volunteered to join the Army and served two tours in Vietnam. The injuries and health problems he incurred from his service ultimately led to his early passing. After working for a number of years on my own to win an approval of my application for DIC, I experienced denial after denial. I saw no recourse, but to abandon my efforts. Many years later, I learned of some new evaluation standards used by the VA and once again I applied for DIC, this time with the help of an ombudsman from the Veterans Association, Again I received denials. Now, only recently, I heard someone mention their success in getting DIC approval after working with Woods&Woods. I became encouraged and thought I would ask them for a free assessment of my situation. After looking at the details, they were willing to take my case. I was assigned one of their excellent attorneys who did all the work in reapplying for DIC in my behalf. I was not expecting too much success, but with the excellent efforts of the attorney assigned to me, my new application was submitted and approved. The award I received has changed my whole outlook on my husband’s service to our country. I can’t thank Woods&Woods enough for what they did for me and my family.
It seemed like a long shot but I am finally finished with the best ever team from woods and woods we got the results we wanted
Woods & Woods is an awesome firm to have on your side. I have been fighting to get the rating that I deserve for decades and they got it for me in a few months. Their team is professional but very polite. They always kept me informed and made themselves available when I had questions. They treated me as a person, more than a paycheck. I would definitely refer them!!!

Why choose Woods & Woods?
Here are five reasons.
You don’t have to hire a VA disability lawyer to file a benefits claim, but the application process can be complicated, time-consuming, and usually requires years of waiting. The VA-accredited veterans appeals lawyers at Woods & Woods have represented thousands of veterans. We’d like the opportunity to represent you throughout the VA appeals process.
1. We know the evidence you need to get VA benefits.
Handling a good VA benefits case is all about telling your story and presenting evidence that supports it.
Our VA claims lawyers and veterans disability attorneys can help you find doctors, psychologists, and vocational experts who can write statements to VA representatives explaining how your physical and mental conditions are connected to your military service and how they are now affecting your quality of life.
We’ll also gather statements from family, friends, and people you were in service with who can paint a picture of your life before, during, and after military service.
Getting these statements along with military and medical records takes time and effort. Woods & Woods can take that burden off your shoulders so you have more time for what matters most to you.
2. We know what benefits you deserve.
The term “disability benefits” does not refer to just one VA compensation program. It is a group of several benefits available to veterans with service-connected health conditions. For example, did you know veterans who require in-home assistance can receive additional monthly benefits? Our VA disability attorneys do!
In our experience managing VA appeals and representing thousands of veterans, we have learned that a good understanding of medical science is just as important as knowing VA law to maximize your benefits in ways you may not have considered. Our veterans’ lawyers use medical evidence to explain what caused your conditions or how military service made them worse. That means we can often service connect health conditions our clients didn’t know were related to their time in the military–and, as a result, increase their monthly benefit.
3. We keep track of the paperwork and the deadlines for you.
The VA appeals process involves multiple forms, deadlines, and complicated rules established by federal law that are always changing.
You shouldn’t have to navigate the system all by yourself, and you certainly shouldn’t be expected to know every federal regulation related to veterans to get the benefits you are owed.
When you hire Woods & Woods, a team of VA disability lawyers, case managers, and legal analysts will work on your case to make sure you don’t miss a deadline, file the wrong form, or overlook a federal rule that could speed up your claim. You should also know Woods & Woods is a veterans benefits law firm focused on VA disability cases, and we’ve won thousands of them.
4. You don’t pay anything unless we win.
While working on your case, we don’t collect a fee or expenses. If we win your case, we receive an agreed-upon percentage of your back pay. We will also bill for the cost of expenses we covered to gather the evidence needed to win your case. We will never take any of your future monthly payments. If we don’t win your claim, you don’t pay anything.
We understand that you might be considering asking a veterans service organization to take your case (especially since they don’t charge a fee). VA law is complicated and always changing, and VA disability benefits cases are challenging. The lawyers for veterans claims at Woods & Woods have more staff, more resources, and more time to dedicate to your case.
5. You deserve the benefits you earned and a VA disability lawyer who will fight to get them.
Your military service is over, but now you have physical or mental health conditions that you know are service connected. Convincing the VA hasn’t been easy and you don’t know how much more time you can invest.
You need a VA claims attorney who has the time, resources, and knowledge to finish the job and do it well. Woods & Woods would like to help you appeal a VA decision and get the benefits you deserve.
