Veterans in the U.S. Virgin Islands are eligible for the same federal VA benefits as vets living in the states. However, each territory also offers some of its own unique benefits for veterans who are considered disabled by the VA. We share some of these U.S. Virgin Islands veteran benefits below.

Veteran property tax benefits in the USVI
Veterans in the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) who served on active duty and received an other than dishonorable discharge qualify for a $650 property tax credit. Surviving spouses of these veterans may also be entitled to this benefit.
Additionally, USVI veterans with a total and permanent VA disability rating qualify for an exemption of all property taxes.
U.S. Virgin Islands vehicle registration benefits
The USVI Bureau of Motor Vehicles offers three specialty license plates for veterans: plates for veterans who received a discharge other than dishonorable, disabled veteran plates, and Gold Star Family plates. All plates are free but do require the veteran to pay registration fees.
Disabled veteran plates, specifically, are available for vets with a total and permanent VA rating and an other than dishonorable discharge.
Veterans in the USVI can also receive a free veteran designation for their driver’s license.
U.S. Virgin Islands education benefits for veterans
The USVI offers free courses to veterans through the University of the Virgin Islands, Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning Program (UVI CELL). To learn more, visit their website.
Certain nonresident veterans may be eligible for in-territory tuition rates to UVI. For more information about who qualifies, contact the UVI admissions office.

VA regional office
Most U.S. territories have at least one VA regional office (VARO) that provides in-person services to help veterans with VA benefits and claims. Offices also offer information about veteran medical help, education and career counseling, memorial benefits, aid for homeless veterans, and more.
While the USVI does not have a physical VARO, they do have satellite offices which can connect veterans with a VARO remotely instead of in person. Below are the VARO satellite locations.

VA medical facilities

The VA uses the information gathered at a C&P exam to determine how severe a veteran’s condition is and whether it is service connected. Below is a list of VA medical facilities in the USVI.
