Kansas education benefits
Kansas offers a range of education benefits for actively enlisted military service members and veterans.
A notable one for families of veterans is the Kansas Hero’s Scholarship. Families of POWs and some deceased or disabled military personnel may be eligible for this scholarship. This award covers tuition and fees at public Kansas institutions of higher education for veterans with honorable or general discharges who are now residents of the state. The veteran must have served in international waters or on foreign soil since 9/11 and received hostile fire pay. Additional eligibility criteria may be found on the Kansas Board of Regents website.
