Eligible disabled veterans, surviving spouses, Gold Star Parents, and legal guardians of veterans may be exempt from Guam property taxes.

Veterans must have a 100% VA rating or receive TDIU benefits to be eligible for this exemption.

Guam veteran vehicle registration benefits

Honorably discharged veterans who are residents of Guam can receive a veteran designation on their driverโ€™s license or ID card.

Driverโ€™s license fees may also be waived for honorably discharged veterans, as well as their eligible family members. Veterans with a 100% VA disability rating or who receive TDIU may also be exempt from paying registration fees.

VA facilities in Guam

We share more about where to find VA facilities in Guam including regional offices, medical facilities, vet centers, and VA cemeteries.

Regional benefit office

Guam does not currently have a full-service VA regional office (VARO). The island does, however, have a VA regional benefit satellite office that offers a few select services for veterans. Below is the VA regional benefit office in Guam.

VA medical facilities

VA medical facilities offer medical information and assistance for veterans. Vets may also receive their compensation and pension (C&P) exam at many of these facilities. The VA uses the information gathered at a C&P exam to determine how severe a veteranโ€™s condition is and whether it is service connected. Below is the VA medical facility in Guam.

Entering ratings

Injuries to the arms and legs are entered separately from other ratings to account for the VA's bilateral factor. Here is an example of how our calculator works for a veteran with a 20% rating for a left hand injury and a 40% PTSD rating:

Screenshot of two ratings entered in the calculator. The first is Left arm at 20%. The second is a general VA disability at 40%.

Your result will appear below your selections. It includes the VA-calculated final rating as well as the rating before rounding, and your expected monthly payments.

Screenshot of the results from the two entered ratings. The results show the combined rating of 50%, the actual rating of 52%, and a monthly payment of $1132.90.
